Fiery Flying Serpents as Mentioned in the Bible

[King James Version] Numbers 21:5 And the people spake against God, and against Moses, Wherefore have ye brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? for there is no bread, neither is there any water; and our soul loatheth this light bread. 

[King James Version] Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died. 

Rather than normal snakes, the fiery serpents may have been fiery flying serpents, or pterosaurs.

Abstract
Over the years Biblical scholars have speculated about the nature of the creature described in the Authorized Version as “the fiery flying serpent.”  The nexus of modern archaeological discoveries, ancient historical accounts, and recent cryptozoological research provides new insights into the identification and characteristics of this creature.  Moreover interviews and personal observations from the 2004 expedition that I led to Papua New Guinea convinced me that a fiery flying serpent still survives on a remote island there.
